Ge Fanuc IC697MEM717 , CMOS Expansion Memory Manufactured By GE Fanuc For The 9070 Series
Product Description
The IC697MEM717 is a CMOS Expansion Memory manufactured by GE Fanuc for the 9070 series. It is available in the following four versions: 64, 128, 256 and 512 KB. IC697MEM717 is mainly purposed for logic and data memory expansion in the Programmable Coprocessor Module (PCM) IC697PCM711, CPU 771 or CPU 772 modules. Mounted as a daughterboard, IC697MEM717 is located in the same slot as the module it serves. Memory on IC697MEM717 board supplements memory available on the baseboard.
In the event of power loss, IC697MEM717 is retained by a specific lithium battery catalogued as IC697ACC701. The battery’s location is easily located on the baseboard housing. The battery is tasked with maintaining user memory when power is lost and also operates the calendar clock on the PLC CPU. A new battery must be installed before the old battery is removed. Battery shelf life is 10 years at the recommended temperature of 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
Logic program memory is continually error-checked by the PLC CPU as a background task. The PCM error checks storage memory when power is cycled and on hard or soft resets. Another select feature of the IC697MEM717 memory is its ability to be configured to retain data and programs. Additionally, no tools are required during the installation process, and this memory expansion can easily be installed in the field.
About IC697MEM717
The GE Fanuc is used for expanding the memory of GE 772 and 771 CPUs in GE PLCs. The memory module can be used for the expansion of the PCM memory that is retained by the battery on CPU or PCM and it does not require any extra slot that is configurable for data and program storage. The IC697MEM717 memory module is available with different storage capacities. The different storage capacity options include 64, 128, 256, and 512 KB of memory space. The IC697MEM717 memory module can be installed as the daughterboard when it resides in the same slot as the module that it serves. The memory on the board supplements the memory that is available on the baseboard. The IC697MEM717 memory module ensures that there memory retention in case of power loss by the battery on the baseboard housing.
The IC697MEM717 memory module comes with a logic program memory that is continually error checked by the PLC CPU as the background task. The PCM error checking on the storage memory continues while the power is cycled and also during hard and soft resets. For CPU installation, the technicians should clear the memory by using Windows programming software or through the use of the MS-DOS software. For the PCM installation, the technicians should adhere to all the instructions that are provided with the programmable coprocessor module. The IC697MEM717 memory module comes with a shelf life of 10 years at an optimal ambient temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, which is equivalent to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. This module has memory retention of 6 months nominal without applied power. The battery ensures that the user memory is retained even when the power is removed, and it keeps the calendar clock running and accurate even with the power disconnected.
