GE FANUC IC697BEM711 , Bus Receiver Module , Series 90-70 Designed
Product Description
IC697BEM711 is a Bus Receiver Module (BRM) from the series 90-70 designed by GE Fanuc. Being a high-speed parallel bus expansion interface, IC697BEM711 comfortably permits expansion from the main rack to a maximum of seven additional IC697 PLC racks with up to 50 feet of interconnecting cable. The IC697BEM711 comes with convenient configuration software and requires no DIP switches.
The IC697BEM711 module has a maximum weight of only 4 lbs. and has a single slot with two connectors. It is important to note that the IC697BEM711 BRM must always be installed in slot 1. Another notable feature of the IC697BEM711 is the use of LEDs to indicate continuous status of module, rack, and presence of the required I/O bus terminator plug. The IC697BEM711 holds last state operation of the output modules in case of possible loss of communications with the CPU. It also allows isolation and repair of a faulty module within the rack.
Note: The IC697 PLC system can only be configured with IC697BEM711 by using an MS-DOS software program or Windows functionality. After selecting the configuration setting, the user will be prompted to confirm the RCM is present. Always refer to the Programmer Controller Installation Manual before attempting any installation.
About IC697BEM711
The IC697BEM711 module is a bus receiver module. Features of the IC697BEM711 module include a high-speed parallel bus expansion interface, support for 7 expansion racks, system fault isolation, easy software configuration, and support for holding the machine’s last state. Three LED indicators on the module provide the status of the module as well as the bus expansion port status and expansion status. By using the IC697BEM711 module, expansion to up to a maximum of 7 additional IC697 PLC racks can be achieved by using a total of 15 meters of cable. The IC697BEM711 module takes up one slot in the PLC chassis. Two connectors are provided on the module’s front panel: one connector is used to connect with the upstream or CPU rack and the other connector is used to connect to additional expansion racks through a daisy chain arrangement.
The IC697BEM711 bus receiver module needs to be configured using the Windows or MS-DOS programming software function. The current requirement of the module is 0.8 Amps and the module also requires 5 Volts DC input voltage. The expansion interface can transmit data at up to 500 kilobytes per second. A cable measuring up to 15 meters can be used with the expansion interface. The module is designed to support VME standard C.1. When ordering the module, the terminator plug with catalog number IC697ACC702 can also be ordered. Furthermore, the following I/O cables can be ordered: a 5-foot cable with the catalog number IC600WD005A, a 10-foot cable with the catalog number IC600WD010A, a 25-foot cable with the catalog number IC600WD025A, and a 50-foot cable with the catalog number IC600WD050A. System power must be turned off before the IC697BEM711 module is inserted into the slot designated for it.
