GE FANUC IC697ALG320 , high-level analog output module , Series 90-30
Product Description
The IC697ALG320 is a high-level analog output module and is fully compatible with GE Series 90-30 modules. Voltage and current outputs are on a single module, and the output module has four individually configured outputs for either current or voltage. Additionally, the module provides bipolar or unipolar outputs. The IC697ALG320 analog output system provides 0 to 22.5 milliamp current loop signals with individual user scaling on each output channel. This particular output system has a fast update rate and requires no jumpers or DIP switches for configuration. It is also factory calibrated with data stored in the non-volatile EEPROM memory. Configuration of the IC697ALG is simple using MS-DOS or Windows programming software.
The high level analog output for the PLC accepts digital data from the CPU or other controllers by accessing the PLC backplane. The output is then converted by a D/A converter to analog outputs up to ten volts. The basic converter offers 16 bits of resolution with 14 bit monotonicity. Additionally, the outputs are isolated from the backplane so they are protected against steady state or transient overvoltage conditions. While it is expected for this analog system to have output loads that will be floating or tied to the same potential, it is designed to allow up to 0.5 VDC compliance voltage difference between outputs. This prevents ground loop currents or errors from happening. Additionally, outputs will operate properly in the presence of a large amount of high frequency noise if needed.
To connect the IC697ALG320 module from user devices, use screw terminals on the removable 40 terminal connector block that is mounted on the front of the module. All field connections should be wired to the I/O terminal board with good grade, twisted shielded instrumentation cable.
