About IC693CHS398
The IC693CHS398 is an Expansion baseplate from the series 90-30 PLC series, formerly by GE Fanuc now under Emerson Automation. This module is compatible with pairing with a CPU baseplate, connecting via the expansion port of the CPU baseplate. With the utilization of IC693CHS398, a higher number of I/O modules can be controlled by the Central Processing Unit (CPU) module. Depending on the CPU type being used, the number of expansion baseplates allowed, such as the IC693CHS398, per system varies specifically, up to 4 expansion baseplates at a time with any of the CPU 331, 340, and 341 and the up to 7 expansion baseplates at a time with CPU 350 and higher. The IC693CHS398 comes with Five (5) I/O slots that are also compatible with the installation of option modules. These slots are unique in size which prevents improper installation of modules. This baseplate requires a dedicated power supply module to operate. The power supply is mounted via the dedicated Power supply slot located on the left side of the hardware. An expansion baseplate port is also available on the rightmost side of the hardware where additional expansion baseplates can be connected. The IC693CHS398 measures 10.43 x 5.12 x 5.59 in. (W x H x D) with an internal power requirement of 170 mA at 5VDC. Up to a total of 50 feet or 15 meters of interconnecting cable is allowed along the expansion system to ensure continuous communication. This hardware does not support the installation of PCM, ADC, Bus Expansion Module (BEM), and CMM311 modules.
