GE FANUC IC693CHS391 , Expansion Plate With Ten Slots , CPU I/O Base , Digital I O Module
Product Description
The GE Fanuc IC693CHS391 is an expansion plate with ten slots.
This expansion plate is designed with a slot at the left end of the baseplate especially for the power supply. The unique size of this slot ensures it is only compatible with a power supply.
The user should ensure that the IC693CHS391 is connected to the CPU in the first slot of its baseplate. The first slot of the baseplate supports the CPU module which is labeled CPU/1. This module is permitted to have only one CPU baseplate per system.
If there is more than one baseplate in the system, then another one must be either Remote or Expansion baseplate. The IC693CHS391 consists of many slots of which slot number 2 and the slots above will have a unique size which is used to connect either option modules or I/O modules.
This module is provided with a 25-pin female connector in its right end to connect to the remote or expansion baseplate. Both remote and expansion baseplates should be connected to the system with a CPU. The number of these baseplates supported by a system mainly depends on the type of CPU used. A maximum of four baseplates can be used if the CPUs 341,340 and 331 are used, otherwise a maximum seven baseplates can be used with CPU 350. The system with remote baseplates requires a cable of less than 700 feet whereas the system requires less than 50 feet for expansion and CPU baseplate. Both remote and expansion baseplates are associated with the DIP switch.
The GE Fanuc IC693CHS391 baseplate is an expansion baseplate that has been designed and manufactured for installation in the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLCs. The IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate can be used to extend a PLC so that it can accommodate more I/O modules and field devices and so that it can handle more applications and specialized large-scale applications. It comes with 10 slots for hosting input and output modules and other devices. The leftmost slot of the IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate contains a power supply module. It has an open enclosure that makes it easy to install or remove but that also makes it vulnerable to things like dust or moisture which may damage it or impair its functioning. This baseplate also comes with a DIP switch.
The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate can be connected to a GE Series 90-30 remote baseplate with its 25-pin female connector that is located on its right side and with a cable that can be up to 700 meters long. The IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate features a special slot just for CPUs, and this baseplate either needs to host a CPU or to be connected to another baseplate in the PLC system that hosts a CPU. Different Series 90-30 CPUs can accommodate different number of expansion baseplates like the IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate. Some Series 90-30 CPUs can accommodate 4 baseplates at a time while others can host up to 7 baseplates at once. The IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate can connect to a computer if it uses a PCI card.
To be connected with a remote baseplate, the IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate requires a cable with a length of less than 700 feet. The baseplate cannot be used as a single entity. It can either be connected to a PLC device or a personal computer that is using a PCI card. It can connect to up to 7 CPUs at a time depending on the model of the CPUs that are used. The IC693CHS391 baseplate can be mounted either vertically or horizontally depending on the layout of the PLC or the CPU. The environmental temperature should always be in the specified range. The plate should be kept away from water splashes and sources of dust, dirt, and harmful chemicals. The IC693CHS391 baseplate is certified by several global environmental and industrial standards.

- Question: What is an IC693CHS391? Answer: The IC693CHS391 is a 10-Slot Modular CPU Baseplate.
- Question: Where should a Power Supply module be plugged into in this baseplate? Answer: A Power Supply module MUST be plugged into the left slot (which is not numbered) of this baseplate. The left slot is a unique size and type that only supports a Power Supply module.
- Question: What should be installed in Slot 1 of IC693CHS391? Answer: A CPU module (or a special Option module) MUST be installed in Slot 1 of this baseplate. Slot 1 is a unique size and type that only supports a CPU module or a special Option module (like the FIP Remote I/O Scanner). Slot 1 is labeled CPU/1.
- Question: What is special about slots numbered 2 and above in IC693CHS391? Answer: Slots numbered 2 and above are of a unique size and type that only supports I/O or Option modules.
- Question: Can you connect an Expansion or Remote baseplate to IC693CHS391? Answer: Yes, you can. A 25-pin D-type female expansion connector is located at the right end of the baseplate so you can connect Expansion or Remote baseplates.
