About 1747-SDN
The AB 1747-SDN is a DeviceNet communication scanner. This scanner module is used to communicate with DeviceNet capable devices over the DeviceNet network or through DeviceNet adapter modules. This module may operate in slave mode; send and receive message in Polled, Strobe, Change-of-State and Cyclic I/O configuration. It also supports pass through configuration wherein, the 1747-SDN acts as a bridge and connects a separate DeviceNet network. This pass through feature is designed to replace the 1770-KFD, 1784-PCD, 1784-PCID, or 1784-PCIDS DeviceNet connection on the network.
Specifically, when implementing Pass-Through configuration, compatible SLC 500 processor is SLC 5/03, SLC 5/04 and SLC 5/05. To configure up to 361 Words, SLC processor firmware required is 4.015 or 5.001 is needed and RSLinx 2.10. For configuration of up to 395 Words, requires SLC 500 firmware needed is 6.0001 or later with RSLinx 2.31 or later.
The 1747-SDN supports configuration of up to 63 nodes at a baud rate of 125 Kbps. It draws backplane current amounting to 5V DC, 500 mA.
The 1747-SDN’s front panel is installed with Two (2) LED status indicators such as Module indicator to report the module’s operation and a Network status LED that indicates the DeviceNet communication link. It also has an LCD display that provides module address and error indication. The DeviceNet terminal is installed behind the access door and provided with a 10-pin linear plug inserted into the DeviceNet port. When configuring this module, an Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) file may be needed if the module is reported unrecognized by the RSLinx software.
It is an interface between the SLC processor and a DeviceNet device, and it can communicate with a processor through M1/M0 file transfers and via a discrete I/O. The 1747-SDN exchanges configuration data, the device I/O data, and status information with the SLC 500 processor. It draws a backplane current of 500mA at 5 Volts DC and of 90mA at 24 Volts DC and it provides a 30 Volts circuit isolation using the Basic Insulation Type tested at 500V AC for 60 seconds between DeviceNet-to-backplane. The 1747-SDN has an IEC tested operational temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity and it is stored at a -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40-185 degree Fahrenheit) temperature range. It also has an IEC-tested operational vibration withstand of 2G at 10-500Hz and a maximum shock rating of 30G. It has a CISPR 11, Group 1, Class A Emission rating and is designated the T5 North America temperature code. It comes in an open-style enclosure and it is c-UL-us and CE-certified.
