The AB 1769-PA4 is a CompactLogix I/O power supply. It can provide 120 to 240 Volts of AC power and 24 Volts of DC power to the CompactLogix 1769-L3x processors, controllers, and the I/O modules connected to it. Up to 8 modules can connect to each side of the 1769-PA4 for a maximum of 16 modules for one power supply. This power supply provides 4A of current at 5 Volts DC or 2A at 24 Volts DC. This module measures 2.76 x 3.43 x 4.65 inches and weighs approximately 630 g (1.39 lb). This power supply supports DIN rail or panel mounting. It has an open-style enclosure with integrated fuse that is replaceable with part numbers Littelfuse 02183.15MXP or the Wickman 19195-3 fuses.

The 1769-PA4 has components that include a bus lever with a locking function, LED status indicator, a power supply door with an identification label, both movable and stationary bus connectors (with male and female pins), a nameplate label, upper and lower tongue-and-groove slots, upper and lower DIN rail latches, a terminal block with finger-safe cover, and a housing cover for the replaceable fuse.

This power supply has a selectable input voltage range of 85 to 265 Volts and 170-265 VAC along an input frequency range of 47 to 63 Hertz. Its power consumption is around 200 VA at 120 Volts AC and 240 VA at 240 Volts AC and its maximum inrush current is 25 Amps at 132 Volts AC. The 1769-PA4 has a current capacity of 4 Amps at 5 Volts DC and one of 2 Amps at 24 Volts DC, a nominal input voltage of 120 to 220 Volts AC, a Wattage of 18 Watts, and an output voltage of 24 Volts DC. Its isolation voltage is continuous at 265 Volts from AC power input to the system.


The AB product with part number 1769-PA4 is a CompactLogix component that functions as an I/O Power supply. This CompactLogix I/O power supplies backplane power which is distributed to the 1769 Compact I/O modules. This power supplies is capable of powering modules from both sides of the unit. Power supply planning is essential in building a CompactLogix assembly this is due to the fact that the power supply is the module referenced by the power supply distance rating requirement. This module requirement must be followed to maintain a valid CompactLogix configuration. Including the processor and communication modules, any module must not exceed the defined power supply distance rating.


This power supply module is also configured in the programming software such as RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 Logix Designer programming software.
