About 1771-ID
The AB 1771-ID is a dual rated input module with individual channel isolation. Each input channel of this module can be operated at nominal voltages of 120VAC or 120VDC while the input voltage ranges are 92-138VAC, 47-63 Hz and 92-138VDC. Each channel requires a nominal input current of 8 mA at 120VAC and 8 mA at 120VDC. With the individual isolation, each channel can operate at different voltage ratings if needed.
The 1771-ID may be installed to any 1771 I/O chassis. It occupies single slot of this chassis and provided with a Field Wiring Arm for modular wiring. This field wiring arm may be replaced with the 1771-WD. This module requires keying positions of between 4 and 6 / between 28 and 30. Appropriate wire size for terminating input devices is 14 Gauge wire, stranded or solid copper wire with 3/64 maximum insulation.
The 1771-ID has an input signal delay 24 +/- 10 ms, for ON and OFF transition for AC signal; 10 +/- 4 ms for turning ON when operated at DC voltage and 20 +/-9 ms for turning OFF when operated at DC voltage. This module has a power dissipation range of 0.4 Watts – 4.4 Watts and Therman dissipation range of 1.3 BTU.hr – 15.0 BTU/hr. The module’s opto-electrical isolation is rated at 1500V ac (rms) and consumes backplane current of 74 mA. The module’s operating temperature is 0o to 60oC (32o to 140oF) while storage temperature is 40o to 85oC (-40oF to 185oF) with relative humidity of 5-95% without condensation.
It requires 74 mA of backplane current load from the output. Make sure to add all the module requirements on the I/O chassis to prevent overloading the backplane and power supply. The 1771-ID Isolated AC/DC Input Module is ideal for Isolated-circuit multi-phase applications. It is designed for use with float switches, limit switches, pushbuttons, and selector switches. It features input filtering that improves the power quality by limiting the effects of voltage transients resulting from the electrical noise and/or contact bounce. This cost-effective feature leads to minimal electrically-related downtime, better performance and productivity, and longer product life. The 1771-ID has a maximum off-state current of 1.7 mA. Due to filtering, signal delay is nominally 24 (±10) ms when AC inputs are turned ON or OFF; and 10(±4) ms when DC inputs are turned ON, and 20(±9) ms when DC inputs are turned OFF. Shipped with the 1771-ID Input Module is a field wiring arm with category number 1771-WD where connections to the module are made.
