IC200CHS002 is a Box-Style I/O Carrier manufactured by Ge Fanuc for its VersaMax series. This carrier is comprised of 36 IEC box-style terminals. The IC200CHS002 provides backplane communications, mounting, and field wiring for one input-output module.
The IC200CHS002 has many features including its ability to support wiring for a maximum of 32 input output points plus 4 shared power connections. The carrier is equipped with a set of easily set keying controls to ensure proper installation of the correct module type. Keys are set to match the keying at the basement of the module, and carrier-to-carrier male/female connectors facilitate quick installation of connections at the backplane without the need of additional cables or tools. A module latch hole is used to secure the module to the carrier, and a transparent protective hinged door covers the wiring terminals. An auxiliary input output terminal strip allows the use of additional bussed connection points.
During mounting, the IC200CHS002 easily snaps onto a 7.5 mm x 35 mm DIN rail. It is important to electrically ground the DIN rail to provide EMC protection. The rail must have a conductive corrosion-resistant finish, preferably unpainted. For those applications that require maximum resistance to mechanical vibration and shock, the IC200CHS002 must be panel-mounted. During field wiring, each terminal should accommodate one solid /stranded AWG of 14 to AWG of 22 or two wires up to AWG of 18.

VersaMax provides several types of snap-together I/O carriers and interposing terminals to provide maximum wiring flexibility, as well as module hot insertion and removal. VersaMax carriers support IEC box-style, spring-style, and barrier-style terminals and are also available as snap-on auxiliary terminal strips and interposing terminals that can be mounted separately and connected to a connector-style carrier by an I/O cable.
