About 1771-OM
The 1771-OM PLC 5 Digital AC Output Module by AB is an output module with 8 fused AC Triac outputs located on any slot of the 1771 I/O chassis. It has an operational output voltage range of 184-250V AC at 47 – 63Hz with an output current of 2A which must not exceed 6A for the entire module and a current surge of 20A for 100ms on each output repeatable every 10 seconds. At 220V AC and 60Hz, the minimum current required by the module to remain ON is 60mA, and at any value below this, the Triac output, it will not operate. The 1771-OM has an ON-state maximum voltage loss of 1.6V at 2A with 2mA per output leakage current at 220V AC in the OFF state and the module draws 225mA at 5V DC (+5%) backplane current from the I/O chassis.
When operational, the 1771-OM dissipates 45.1 BTU/hr of maximum heat with a 13.2-Watt power dissipation and the module provides a voltage isolation which meets or exceeds the UL and CSA specified standards. Its circuitry is composed of 14 gauge (2mm2) stranded wire with 3/64-inch (1.2mm) thick insulation and the module’s output is fused with 2A, 250V 3AG normal blow fuse. The 1771-OM requires a field wiring arm with a 7 by 9 inch-pounds field wiring screw torque and the module is keyed to the I/O chassis by connecting the connector band between pins 6 and 8 and pins 28 and 30. It is CE, UL, and CSA-certified, and is designed to meet standard performance specification at a temperature range between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity.
